Natural History Museum: Antarctic Dinosaurs

Updated: Nov 13, 2020

A fellow student and friend contacted the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles about us doing a piece for our class. We had the the pleasure of meeting with the Social Media team to pitch an idea for a 3D animated short film of their Antarctic Dinosaurs exhibit using their Dinosaurs; Cryolophosaurus and Sauropodomorph A. With our team of eight people we only had four months to make it from start to finish. It was an amazing experience and my team went above and bring this to reality. We definitely bit off more than we could chew but we learned more than from any class we took from just those four months. During the project I helped oversee tasks, held weekly meetings, gave critiques and feedback. I also was in charge of the creature modeling, texturing, and visual effects.

Modeled, sculpted, and textured the Cryolophosaurus, Sauropodopmorph A, and visual effects programs used Maya, Zbrush, Substance Painter, Photoshop, and Unreal Engine 4.

All the visual effects were created by me using Maya, Photoshop, and Unreal Engine 4. Shown below is the Aurora Borealis, Firefly, and River.
